Ben Filak (he/him) is a guitarist from Belle Vernon, PA. He’s been playing for over 10 years, and is currently a member of the up-and-coming rock band Broom. He specializes in rock/blues music, but can teach any genre on either electric or acoustic guitar. He also can teach bass guitar if the opportunity would arise. He’s excited to work with PMP and is looking forward to helping people learn the joys of music!Ben Teaches Piano and voice virtually, out of both The Connellsville Area Community Center and the Green Beacon Gallery in Greensburg.
David Quairiere (he/him) started his musical adventure at the age of 10 when he first began playing flute. At the age of 13, he started taking guitar lessons, and has been playing for over 43 years since. He has been in various bands throughout the years. One of the bands named Empathy had the amazing privilege of performing on the secondary stage at the 1994 Woodstock Reunion Festival in Bethel, NY. He has also had the opportunity to open up for national artists such as Ted Nugent, Bad Company, and Pat Travers. David has been teaching guitar throughout his musical career, and he is very compassionate about providing musical instruction. David teaches guitar out of the Connellsville Area Community Center
Eli (he/him) is a native of Pennsylvania who has grown to love the Westmoreland Music scene; learning guitar and bass in middle school, he was influenced by bands such as Green Day, Nirvana, and Alice In Chains. During high school, he joined together with his best friends to form his first band whom he still writes and plays shows with today. Eli furthered his musicianship at Seton Hill University where he learned to love classical and jazz guitar before eventually becoming a full time EMT in Greensburg. Along the way, an old friend introduced him to a few musicians that have welcomed him into their band where they are currently playing locals shows and recording original music. Eli Teaches Guitar out of the Green Beacon Gallery in Greensburg.
Emery Palmer (they/them) is a Senior studying Music Education at Seton Hill University, and one of Practice Makes Perfect's student teachers! Their primary instrument is voice and they study the cello and trumpet as secondaries. They regularly gig for Practice Makes Perfect, last seen at the Westmoreland Arts and Heritage Festival and Pa Brewery running series. Emery teaches beginner cello, ukulele, and voice lessons in Greensburg.
Eric (he/him) has been playing guitar for over 10 years now and has learned and taught all genres and styles of music from 70's rock and funk, all the way to modern pop music.
Eric is ecstatic to be teaching with Practice Makes Perfect and can't wait to help other musicians find their groove. Eric teaches guitar in Greensburg.
Scott Goodman (he/him) was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and earned a BA in Music from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. In addition to enjoying a long career as an elementary and middle school music educator, Scott is a board-certified music therapist, author/composer of the academic-based music program Music, Math & Money, and creator of Staff Saver, a perforated carbonless music manuscript paper system. Scott is a well-rounded and accomplished musician and is able to demonstrate advanced proficiency in music theory, songwriting, and performance. He is an experienced and engaging music educator who loves sharing his skills and talents to inspire his students, and he can be counted on to commit personal resources and expertise to ensure that each student has the opportunity to realize their maximum potential. When not performing or teaching, Scott likes to spend his free time with his wife Gina, son Sam, and daughters Ellis and Annie. Scott teaches guitar, piano, bass, ukulele and voice in Greensburg.
Tom (he/him) grew up in Greensburg, and began performing locally as a guitarist/vocalist in 2010. He graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2016 and worked in Boston as a music instructor and radio station production manager until 2019. Since moving back to Pennsylvania, Tom has continued teaching while writing and recording original music. He is signed to Mint 400 Records as a solo artist and has performed in New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, Pittsburgh, and Providence. Excited to be working with PMP, Tom especially enjoys working with beginner guitarists and any musicians with interest in composition/songwriting. He teaches guitar, bass, piano, ukulele, drum, and voice lessons in Greensburg.
