The mission of the Frances Fund is to bring affordable music and arts entertainment and education to the community. We firmly believe in equitable access to the arts and art education, and to that end we have established the Frances Fund. The Frances Fund allows us to bring free and reduced priced arts education and lessons, drum circles, open mic nights, jam sessions, instrument exploration sessions, free and reduced-priced instrument repairs and support for local gig musicians. Supporting the Frances Fund helps support the arts throughout Western Pennsylvania and Beyond. All of the money that goes into the Frances Fund gets put back into our local communities. The main focus of the Frances Fund is to provide free and low cost opportunities for students of all ages. Frances Fund students can take lessons anywhere and we will help students in need to connect with music, art, dance and theater teachers.
Thanks to our friends Brighton Music Center we are happy to be able to offer free instrument rentals, and repairs through use of our France Funds. We hold bi-annual instrument drives and take donated instruments all year round!
Thanks to the Frances Fund we are able to host two different Open Mic Nights each month. One at the Appalachian Creativity Center in Connellsville and one for the city of Jeannette at the Jeannette Amphitheater. Open mic nights are free to the community and we pay local musicians and performers to host the events. Further supporting the arts in our community.
We offer free monthly drum circles with our partners at The Space GBG on the first Wednesday of each month! We also often partner with other organizations to bring free drum circles to the community!
A portion of our Frances Fund is used to help local professional musicians by providing our gig professionals with a sizzle reel, photo session and networking opportunities, as well as allowing us to create paid opportunities for local musicians.
We are happy to be able to offer free music instrument exploration sessions with one of our qualified instructors for free to anyone interested. These sessions let you explore instruments from multiple different families and help you decide on an instrument that's right for you.
